Our Studio
for a happier, healthier you!
Welcome
The idea behind Manas Yoga was born from a desire to create a yoga studio that transcends the traditional boundaries of yoga practice. It was founded by a couple who shared a profound love for yoga, movement, meditation, and the transformative power of sound. Nestled just behind Stephansdom, in the heart of Vienna’s 1st District, our studio offers a harmonious blend of modern design and serene surroundings, providing the perfect environment for your yoga practice.
You won’t find us announcing ourselves from the street. You’ll pass through an arched doorway into a quiet inner courtyard — stone tile underfoot, potted plants softening the corners, an antique lantern glowing beside the entrance — and something in your shoulders will already start to drop before you’ve even stepped inside. That’s by design. Vienna’s 1st District moves fast; we wanted a space where the city’s noise stays outside the door.
Inside climb the wooden staircase and, just at the top, you’ll find our TCM and bodywork room — a quiet nook with meridian charts on the wall and a window that opens onto the courtyard below. This is where Yin, myofascial work, and Thai Yoga Massage happen slowly, on purpose.
Just past it, our sitting room opens up — carved wooden doors, kilim rugs underfoot, low tables stacked with books and mismatched cushions, the kind of spot where people linger with a tea instead of rushing out. Turn left here and you’ll find our zen garden and to the right a small, plant-filled courtyard strung with colorful prayer flags, where reclaimed wooden pallets have been turned into low, sun-warmed seating.
Further back, past the sitting room, our second yoga shala unfolds: a cozy, intimate room with high ceilings and tall arched windows. Wood floors stretch wide and open, bolsters are stacked along the walls, and prayer flags catch whatever breeze finds its way through. Past the kitchen, a even bigger yoga shala mirrors that same sense of openness — light, quiet, and unhurried, giving us the flexibility to run classes and workshops side by side without ever feeling crowded.
Lockers, showers, and everything you need are tucked quietly out of the way — because the point of this space was never the amenities. It was the stillness.
We’re a two-minute walk from Stephansdom, and a world away from it.
At Manas Yoga we practice yoga not just by doing asanas — for us yoga is a way of life. We recognize that each individual is part of the whole. So when we care about your health and wellbeing, we also do so for our Mother Earth — who nurtures and sustains us. We believe wholeheartedly in the importance of a healthy interior space with a low environmental impact to practice in.
We use renewable energy, a paperless booking system, energy-efficient lighting, and natural oil finishes on our wood furniture. For us, this is also yoga. By doing this we remain true to our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, supporting small businesses, and at the same time taking care of your health.
