Our FAQ

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MANAS YOGA?

We believe yoga is for everyBODY. We strive to create a welcoming, relaxed, open and professional environment where every student feels comfortable. Our team is very approachable and available to answer any questions you may have about your practice. Don’t be shy.

IS IT OK IF I’VE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE?

Yes, absolutely! The yoga classes labeled Level 1 and Level 2 are great starting points for beginners who do not have any experience with yoga. If you’ve practiced yoga before and have taken a break, you can also try joining a Level 3 & 4 class, which of course depends on your physical fitness level. Just let the teacher know that you are new or just returning to yoga and always practice at your own pace.

At Manas Yoga Studio we believe that yoga is a personal practice; asana (yoga postures) will look differently for each person for the simple reason that we have different body structures, experiences, nutrition and lifestyles. Our goal is to help you find a practice that works best for you.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY CLASS?

Refrain from eating one to two hours before the class starts. Wear comfortable clothes. You’ll be provided with a clean, quality Manduka Prolite Mat to use in the studio for free. It’s likely that you’ll perspire during class so you can BYO towel or borrow one from us at reception. Please hydrate before class, we also offer water and tea at the studio. We have a full bathroom and changing room facilities and showers with all-natural body products that we make by ourselves.

Come with an open mind.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE TO GET BEST RESULTS?

Two or three classes per week is a great starting point when you’re new to yoga. Many people jump right in and enjoy daily practice. If possible we suggest mixing up the Yang styles of yoga such as ‘Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga’ one day and Yin Yoga styles of yoga ‘Yin or Restorative Yoga’ the next. We also recommend at least one day off from a Yang style of Yoga per week so that your body can recuperate.

WHAT IF I HAVE INJURIES OR FEEL UNWELL?

If you have an injury please get the all-clear from your doctor before attending our classes. Make the teacher aware of all injuries before the class. Listen to what your body is telling you and move accordingly.

Please do not practice if you have a cold or flu as you risk more harm to yourself as well as others around you. Stay home and take a rest. We reserve the right to refuse entry to class if you present unwell. Don’t forget to cancel any class bookings.

I’M PREGNANT. IS IT SAFE TO PRACTICE?

Congrats! If you already have a regular yoga practice you are more than welcome to attend any class with us. We do however recommend that you check in with your doctor and get the all-clear to practice.

Before any class please let the teacher know how many weeks pregnant you are. They will discuss which poses you should skip and offer alternatives throughout the class.

If you have never practiced yoga before we believe you would get more benefits from a specialised pregnancy class.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you are unable to make it to class please consider your fellow yogis and be sure to cancel your booking at least 6 hours before the class. If you’ve booked using a Drop-In, or Block Cards, any no-shows or late cancellations will result in forfeiting that visit.

Booking cancellations can be made via the Manas Yoga website or Eversports App. Cancellations will not be accepted via phone, email, or social media. Kindly note the above policies are not applicable to Events & Workshops. For Event & Workshop policies please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

HOW CAN I CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND BOOK INTO CLASSES?

You may sign up here. You can also download and book through our Eversports App to reserve a place in each class. If you prefer not to book ahead of time, please understand that we cannot guarantee you a spot in the class.
