Journey through the rich tapestry of yoga’s ancient wisdom and modern application in this comprehensive 50-hour module. Explore the foundational texts that shaped yoga practice—from the Vedas and Upanishads to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras—and trace yoga’s evolution into the contemporary world. Deepen your understanding of the subtle body through study of the Maha Guna, Pancha Kosha, Prana, Nadis, Bandhas, and Chakras.

This module also emphasizes the ethical foundations of teaching yoga, covering professional conduct, scope of practice, equity, and your commitment to lifelong learning. With 36 contact hours and 14 non-contact hours, you’ll gain the philosophical grounding essential for authentic, informed teaching.

  • In this course, we’ll delve into the significant yogic text and understand the relationship between, asana, pranayama, and meditation and how these are related to your understanding of the yoga Humanities.
  • You’ll also learn about the ethical context, responsibility, and accountability of a yoga teacher in relation to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in yoga.
  • We’ll reflect on how philosophy relates to the practice of yoga and how to integrate this into our teaching.

Meet your Instructor

Marta Tara Devi Yoga teacher

Marta Ebner is an E-RYT 500 yoga educator with over a decade of teaching experience. She has served as faculty and lead educator within Yoga Alliance–aligned 200-hour yoga teacher training programs, contributing to the professional education of future yoga teachers. Her teaching scope includes asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, mantra, and Yoga Nidra, with a focus on trauma-sensitive and integrative approaches. Marta holds a Master degree in Economics and Business Administration, bringing strong pedagogical, organizational, and interdisciplinary expertise to her educational work. Her teaching is rooted in the Vedic tradition and she is based in Vienna.
